Amazing time at Michael's winery! Love all the taxidermy. The wines are pleasing and worth the visit! We will be back soon!
Quite possibly the best wines in Paso. Michael couldn’t have been more friendly or generous. His award winning wines left us wanting more. For a winery off the beaten path, this place had it all. Delicious wines, breathtaking views, friendly service and great prices. He made us feel at home. Can’t wait to go back.
We had a truly memorable experience. The wines are great, and Michael Gill was pouring wine giving us insight into his wine. He makes you feel like you're an old friend. His wine tasting room is great and his patio has great views of the valley. Perfect for a picnic. We are big fans and couldn't recommend it strong enough.
Great wine and beautiful scenery
We happened across Michael Gill accidently and are sooooo glad we did. The wine is exquisite with a price point that is an exceptional value. This winery turned out to be our very favorite. We did a wine tasting contest with my dad-a wine aficionado upon return home: Michael Gill was the winner. We are looking forward to the benefits of being a memeber and blessing our friends with a visit to our winery.
Excellent wines. 40 awards on their wines. There is taxidermy on the walls, but it is well done and not excessive. The wines are worth the drive from San Francisco as they were smooth, refreshing, and delicious. The staff was incredible!
Excellent to really outstanding wines, all estate-grown on the property by the owner including some varieties that are very uncommon in California like Vermentino, Counoise, and Alicante Bouschet (a rare cross, sort of a turbocharged Grenache) They make a few different Syrahs from the vines nearest the tasting room. And yes, the tasting room has some taxidermy in it, which seems to have emotionally offended a few people to the point of not being able to evaluate the wines? I thought this site was for reviews, not trolling 🙂 Anyway, if you want to try some of the best wines in Paso, it's worth the trip.
The owner works very hard to ensure that every single person that walks into their tasting room knows that the wine they are about to taste is 100% above satisfactory. The owner is kind and friendly and even though they have animal decor on their walls it shouldn't matter because their wine is the one to of won all of the gold metals. This place was truly a great experience!
I am AMAZED at all of the 1-star ratings...does anyone know how many gold medals this winery has turned out? Their wines are AMAZING! I can't believe all the negative comments about the "atmosphere"! It is a beautiful winery with the best owner. They are gracious, warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about their wines and will answer any questions about how they are produced and harvested. Too bad for all of those who just don't "get it" and try to bash this FIRST CLASS winery! This is one winery not to miss on your visit to the central coast.
The wines here are great - can find hard to find varietals and they're delicious! They've received a ton of awards for their wines to boot.
The winery and tasting room is beautifully situated with great views of the vineyards. They have big game trophies of some beautiful animals, and although hunting is not for everyone, it is geared toward people with that mindset.
Would recommend visiting and trying the yummy wines while down in Paso. It's a fun drive and can have some great wines and enjoy a unique tasting experience with the animals.
